Third grade students have been studying birds of Vermont as well as the artwork of John James Audubon. Each student chose a Vermont bird, sketched studies of the bird, and created dynamic two-layer prints based on the sketch. First, they used carving tools to create relief images on rubber blocks. They pressed a yellow print initially, then carved out the background and details, registered the block to match their original print, and created a second layer of color on their first print.
