As one of our major explorations in this unit, we visited the Moran Plant to see how a group of people is using art to transform an abandoned power plant into a community space.
We focused on artist Mary Lacy 's work on the tour, and we met with her to ask her how her art contributes to her community. Below are images of students visiting the plant, looking for artwork and envisioning the construction site as a future community hub. The final 3 images are students' photographs of beautiful parts of the building.
